GOP: Freshman Profile – Kristi Hager

hager-headshotRepresentative-elect Kristi Hager, of Waukon, was elected to serve House District 56. The district consists of portions of both Allamakee and Clayton counties in the Northeastern portion of the state.

Kristi has spent most of her life living in Allamakee County.  She grew up in Waukon, attended NITI, Calmar receiving her Associates Degree in nursing.  While raising her family, Kristi attended the University of Dubuque and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. 

Kristi and her husband, Bob, opened the Living Stone, a non-profit faith-based reentry home for people coming out of jail/prison, homeless, or individuals in need of a “hand up” which operated from March 2009 until the fall of 2012.  For the last 18 years, the Hager’s have owned and operated Upper Iowa Resort & Rental near Dorchester.  Kristi has worked as an RN since July of 1985 and stepped away from full-time nursing five years ago.  She occasionally subs as a school nurse through the Allamakee Community School District.

Kristi is a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon and has been involved in the CEW (Christian Experience Weekend), jail/prison ministry, and various civic groups over the years that have included the Waukon Jaycees, Girl Scouts, 4-H, church board, and she serves on the Allamakee Assessors Board of Reviews.

Kristi and Bob have three adult daughters and two grandchildren.
