Medicaid is funded by both the state and federal governments.  Federal officials have a responsibility to see that Iowa’s Medicaid program is working.  For example, when it was obvious to everyone but the Branstad Administration and Republican legislators that Iowa’s privatized Medicaid scheme was NOT ready to start on January 1 of 2016, federal officials stepped in and pushed the start date back two months, and then delayed the start for another month.

On Monday, September 12th, there will be a conference call on the current status of Iowa Medicaid with officials from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Iowa Medicaid members, families, and providers are encouraged to call in and share their concerns with federal officials.

The September 12th call will occur from 11:30 AM to 1 PM.  The call-in number is 1-888-456-0279 and the access code is: 4499957.

This will be a moderated call run by federal officials.  If you wish to speak, call early to join the line waiting to speak.  Participants are asked to limit their comments to three minutes.  Federal officials may ask questions of callers.
