GOP: Meet Our Members – Rob Taylor

Representative Rob Taylor just finished serving his second term in the Iowa House.  He represents Iowa’s 44th District which includes Clive, Waukee, and West Des Moines.

Rep. Taylor is the Chair of the Ethics Committee and Vice Chairman of the Economic Growth Committee. He also serves on the Appropriations and Human Resources committees.


A lifelong Iowan and West Des Moines resident, Rob is a small business owner, consultant and trainer for the retail and automotive industry. He is also and ASE Certified Diesel technician as well as a diesel and bio-fuel specialist with experience in agricultural equipment and municipal transportation. Rob also serves as an adjunct professor for William Penn University, Kaplan University, and Des Moines Area Community College where he specializes in servant leadership, business ethics, and corporate leadership.

Rob is involved in the community in a variety of charities and organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors for Wildwood Hills Ranch in St. Charles, Iowa and is also involved with the Iowa Clinic Healthcare Foundation, and John Stoddard Rally Against Cancer. He has also served for many years as a coach with the Walnut Creek Little League.

Rob and his wife, Christi, an Internal Medicine physician and Chief Quality Officer with The Iowa Clinic, have four children ranging from middle school to graduate school.
