Communications Intern

The House Republican caucus is seeking a communications intern for the 2016 legislative session.  Interns will work closely with the House Republican communication and research staffs as well as the Speaker and Majority Leader’s offices on a variety of tasks and assignments.  Duties will include:  press releases, photography, videography, social media updates, letters, certificates, various writing assignments, and general office duties.  The intern will interact with legislators, staff and members of the media.

Applicants should have an interest in media, Republican politics, and/or communications.  Excellent writing skills are required, and experience in audio and video production is helpful, but not necessary.

Dates are flexible and the time commitment would be roughly 10 hours a week.  Internships are unpaid.

Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Colin Tadlock by Friday, November 20.  Please contact Colin Tadlock at Colin.Tadlock@legis.iowa.gov or 515-281-3432 if you have any questions.
