GOP: Meet Our Members – Joel Fry

Representative Joel Fry is currently serving his third term in the Iowa House.  He represents Iowa’s 27th District, which includes Chariton, Osceola, Leon and Corydon.

Rep. Fry serves as the Whip for the House Republican caucus, and also sits on the Administration & Rules, Education, Human Resources, Labor, and Public Safety committees.

Joel was born and raised in Osceola in small family business and farming. He and his wife, Heather, have four children. They live in rural Osceola where they own two small businesses. He is president of TEAM Restoration Ministries and serves as an expert consultant for healthcare issues related to hospice and end of life care. He is also adjunct faculty at Simpson College and the University of Iowa School of Social Work.

Joel has served the public through foster care, serving on his church leadership board, and has been instrumental on boards of directors and committees for various local and national hospice programs. Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and a Master of Social Work and Certificate in Aging Studies from the University of Iowa School of Social Work.
